One of the best things about having a Corgi is the fact that they need very little show grooming. When showing them, you need only comb them out daily and bathe them weekly. A bath the day of the show should only be done if the feet have become dirty and then you should only bathe the feet and perhaps the belly. A clean coat with a bit of trimming around the feet is about all one needs to do. If you put chalk into the white parts (usually, only the top of the muzzle if there is a pink spot by the nose and the feet) then you should remove ALL of the chalk before you take the dog into the ring. In the US, we no longer trim the whiskers on the face of the dog. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t comb up a bit of a dip in the topline or brush up the front of the chest to enhance the outline of the dog, just don’t use a lot of products on the coat which will change the texture of the coat. The judge should not feel anything on their hands when they come away from a physical exam of the dog.
